Are you a noxious weed warrior in Kitsap County, familiar with noxious and invasive plants that pose hazards to local farmlands, animals, natural areas and human health? Applications are now open for representatives of Bremerton and Central Kitsap to serve on the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Board. Applicants are sought that are involved in farming, forestry, livestock production, nursery production or aquaculture.
Board members assist with the management of an effective county weed control or eradication program of noxious weeds. They assure compliance and coordination with state, federal, and other applicable regulations. Noxious weeds are invasive non-native plants introduced to Washington through human actions that can have far reaching impacts on agriculture, recreational lands, natural resources, and human health and safety.
