Juneteenth Freedom Festival is a collaborative community effort, and our theme for 2019 is #StillFightingForFreedoms! This Kitsap County celebration is a tradition of marking the day that chattel slavery in the United States actually ended --June 19, 1865, or "Juneteenth"-- more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. We'll gather to honor this historic step of liberation and to continue the work of fighting for freedoms across Kitsap County. Join us in Evergreen Park on Saturday, June 15th, beginning at 11 a.m. Get involved by registering for a FREE outreach booth space for your nonprofit, signing up to perform, becoming a sponsor, and more!
