The Bainbridge Island Library is a welcoming community center with activities, programs, and resources for all ages. The library provides programs such as Field's End Writers Roundtable and Speakers Forums.
Ballast Book Company carries mostly new books but has a small inventory of used books. They coordinate with local businesses, such as Ashley's Pub and LoveCraft Brewery, to hold book clubs and meet-the-author events!

The Gig Harbor Garden Tour Foundation sponsors a yearly, ticketed, self-guided garden tour in June where select residents in the Gig Harbor/Key Pen area open their gardens to visitors. Complimenting these gardens are artists selling their artwork. The proceeds from this event go towards local literacy programs in elementary schools and other organizations.
This group meets every month on the third Thursday at the Kingston Library! Enjoy a friendly, supportive atmosphere to encourage writing. They want to read what you want to write: poetry, nonfiction, fiction, memoir... Beginners welcome!
