About Suquamish Museum


The Suquamish Museum is located on the Port Madison Indian Reservation. The museum was completed in 2012 and is LEED certified. The museum contains multimedia panels along with permanent and rotating exhibits. Artifacts you can view include beautiful baskets, historic photographs, wood carvings, and elements unearthed during archaelogical excavations.

   1. Look down and take note of the flooring in the museum's main gallery.

   2. Watch the six minute video they show on their history. It's eye opening.
 
   3. Visit the nearby Chief Seattle gravesite and the Suquamish Veterans Memorial.
 
   4. The Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort also has Suquamish art in their lobby.
 
   5. Visit the Old Man House Park by walking down Division Street.

   6. The roof is slanted to mimic the former Old Man House style.

   7. The nearby House of Awakened Culture serves as the Suquamish Community House.
