Bainbridge Performing Arts seeks Teaching Artists
for BPA Theatre School’s Fall Quarter
Application Deadline: August 1st

Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) is looking for enthusiastic, service-oriented Teaching Artists to join BPA Theatre School’s fall roster. BPA’s education programs are committed to building on student strengths, teaching new skills, and providing a positive, safe environment where students of any age can grow both artistically and personally, all while having fun. BPA employs a talented cadre of Teaching Artists and Assistants that are eager to generate a positive impact in each student’s educational and theatrical experience.

BPA Theatre School is currently seeking individuals with theatre background, and experience and/or education in working with younger elementary school children. The position would not begin until September, but there may be opportunities sooner for short-term projects. Classes would be held after school three days per week. Director of Education Liz Ellis says, “We are looking for someone on the island or nearby on the peninsula for whom this would complement or complete a larger work schedule, as we aren’t able to offer more than eight hours per week to any one instructor. There is, however, room for growth as a long-term member of the teaching staff, and we aim to make the program meet the scheduling needs of committed team members!”

A warm, welcoming, can-do customer service attitude is a must. The successful candidate(s) will help to maintain current momentum and will continue to grow and shape BPA’s stature in the community. This part-time position is three days/week, beginning in September. Compensation is $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience. Preference will be given to qualified local candidates.

BPA Theatre School offers classes for 4-7 year olds, 1st – 3rd graders, 2nd – 8th graders, teens, and adults. Anyone who joins the teaching staff is considered a member of the BPA family and encouraged to take advantage of reduced fees for adult classes, complimentary tickets to performances, and the general atmosphere of collegiality and creativity that BPA offers.

For a complete job description, or to apply for the position, please contact Liz Ellis, Director of Education, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110, or respond by email to Application materials will be accepted through August 1st or until vacancies are filled.
